Can't visit Malviya Nagar in Delhi? People say find and support a 'Baba ka Dhaba' near you

After Baba ka Dhaba video went viral on social media, netizens said that it's time to find and support local vendors.

New Delhi: Social media has the power to bring about a change in the lives of people. Hours after a video of Baba ka Dhaba's Kanta Prasad and his wife Badami Devi struggling to make ends meet went viral, people from across the country came forward to lend a helping hand to the elderly couple. They set up their dhaba opposite Hanuman Mandir in Malviya Nagar, South Delhi, in the late 1980s.

Gaurav Wasan posted a video of the couple seeking help from his followers. 80-year-old Prasad's tears told how he and his wife had been struggling to sell food at their dhaba.

After the video went viral, several people flocked to Baba ka Dhaba to help the couple.

In a new video, Prasad gave a message to everyone. "Sabki madad honi chaiye. Hum akele nahi hain. Duniya me bahutere pade hain jinko khane ke liye dane ke liye ghar nahi hai. Khane ko roti nahi hai (Every local vendor should be helped.  We are not the only ones. There are many who don't have food to eat and house to live)," Prasad said.

Prasad's words were reiterated by netizens who said that they should find a Baba ka Dhaba near them.

One user said, "Helping them specifically in hard times is the best thing one can do. Despite of being old, they work hard to earn their living. They do not beg. That's the best part. Wish we can support many such people who are struggling for survival."
